Chicory Root Coffee

Chicory Root Coffee is also known simply as "Chicory Coffee" and can be used as a 100% substitute for coffee, or blended with coffee as is especially popular around New Orleans. On it's own, it has a very smooth flavour and very low acidity, as well as being naturally caffeine-free. The aroma is sweeter than coffee, often with a bit of chocolate.

Chicory coffee can be enjoyed black, using 2-3 tablespoons per cup of brewed hot coffee. Adding sugar (brown, white, honey, maple syrup) and some milk or cream transforms the taste quite a bit - we recommend experimenting to find what's right for you.

Chicory root coffee can be combined with dandelion root and red maca powder for an herbal tonic.
